This photo has been one of my favorites since the night I took it.
This particular house fire was in a very large (3000+ Square Foot) single family home. The fire completely gutted the house and destroyed everything inside. In the process of fighting the fire, two separate firefighters had to call MAYDAY and be assisted out of the structure due to the conditions inside causing them injury or distress. This photo portrays one of the chiefs, who had been operating on the scene all night long, taking a moment to take a deep breath and reflect on the the events of the night. In the background, hoselines stretch through the front door of the home into the ashes and soot that has accumulated after the fire destroyed a majority of the contents and belongings inside.
